Finally I decided to write a developer blog. It’s been in my mind for quite a long time, but for some reason or the other I was always delaying this moment. I’m glad to be writing this lines of what hopefully will be a long lasting project.
As I evolve as a developer I expect for this blog to do so also. I know the “term” blog feels old fashioned as hell. Now a days everyone is on social media or streaming services but that’s not for me. Don’t get my wrong, I embrace new trends and technologies that make such of an impact. However I rather express myself here, in my own personal space. I guess for certain things I’m still an old school guy 🤷🏻♂️
At this moment I know a few things that I expect from this blogging experience:
1.) I’ll write about tech, but let’s face it, there’s life beyond code. Don’t get me wrong, I love deep technical topics like how many layers of abstraction are needed for an API, or if gRPC is better than REST, but there’s much more beyond this tech savvy topics. What things? The spectrum is huge! From being part of a startup with a crazy idea, to meeting people from Cameroon, Italy or Iran. This people might even become your friends if you are lucky. Isn’t that beautiful? Having the opportunity to meet incredible talented people that are literally on the other part of the globe (God bless remote work 🙏)
Yes, I love tech, but I’m also passionate about everything that surrounds it. Startups, design, social impact, community, etc. And most importantly, PEOPLE! We work with machines, but we are not machines. So, expect a human touch here and there among code and coffee.
2.) Keep track of side projects. Writing things down always helps add some clarity, furthermore I think it also helps with commitment. Since I plan to start a few small projects, this blog can help me log the journey. Who knows? It might be a fun ride! I’m sure I’ll encounter some challenges, both technical and non-technical. I’m already looking forward for those! 🥊
3.) Sharing. I’ll love to say that finally I feel I have something to sure, but it feels fucking presumptuous so I’ll just leave it here.
4.) Tech notes. What was that Javascript function I wrote to generate dynamic schemas? Aha, I wrote a blog post about. You get the point right?
